Focus Service: SheffieldChurch had its first church service in May 2001. Our church is designed around the needs of people with learning disabilities and comprehension difficulties.
We are an official, formally constituted church. We operate an active church membership and have regular church members meetings where all members get the opportunity to vote on matters of the church and help decide the direction and ministry of the church. We have people with learning disabilities permanently on our leadership team.
For most of the life of the church we have been constituted as a mutli-denominational partnership and recently, for a five year period, our partnership existed under a Bishop’s Mission Order. We are now a stand alone Baptist church and a member church of the Baptist Union of Great Britain within the Yorkshire Baptist Association.
